Kristen Loescher

General Manager

Kristen Loescher comes to the Rouse Center with over 15 years of experience in the fitness industry and youth programming. She has worked to open one other fitness center prior to coming to the Rouse Center. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Cedarville University and is also a certified American Red Cross Instructor.

Kristen is originally from Michigan, and enjoys cross country skiing, running, and, of course, taking group exercise classes! She, her husband, Ken, and their three daughters currently reside in Stafford, VA.

Michael Avery

Assistant General Manager, Fitness Director

Michael Avery brings to the Jeff Rouse Swim and Sport Center over 8 years of experience within health, wellness and fitness settings. Among these 8 years he has held various roles within fitness and wellness including wellness center manager, personal trainer, professional baseball strength and conditioning coach and exercise physiologist. He has obtained his B.S. in Kinesiology from SUNY Cortland and M.S. in Clinical Exercise Physiology from the University of Florida. Michael is certified through the American College of Sports Medicine as a Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist.

In his free-time he enjoys hiking, basketball, softball and weight training.

Kathy Williams

Group Fitness Coordinator

Kathy Williams comes to the Jeff Rouse Sport & Swim Center with over 10 years of fitness and management experience. She has an infectious passion for helping members reach their fitness goals, which is shared by her team of instructors. Kathy earned her Bachelors of Science degree in Psychology from Ramapo College. She also has an impressive list of fitness certifications and teaches a wide array of classes.

Her mission is to nurture a Group Fitness program that extends beyond demonstration of proper physical movement. She and her staff strive to foster a connection among students and instructors, where fitness goals are reached in a supportive, safe and fun environment.

Brian Cann

Aquatics Director

Brian Cann comes to the Jeff Rouse Swim and Sport Center with over 5 years of aquatic experience since his graduation from the University of Virginia. He has worked for 3 different aquatic centers acting in positions including Lifeguard Instructor, Pool Operator, and Aquatics Director. He also teaches as an American Red Cross Instructor for Germanna Community College.

Brian has received certifications in Lifeguarding, Lifeguard Training, Pool Operations, as well as Level 2 U.S. Masters Swimming. Brian loves training for triathlons in his spare time.

Seth Perdue

Youth & Sports Director

Seth Perdue comes to the Jeff Rouse Swim and Sport Center with over 10 years of youth programming experience, most recently with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington and the Alice C. Tyler Village of ChildHelp East. He has experience facilitating teambuilding and group activities, teaching social and therapeutic recreational sessions, and sports coaching and athletic training.

In his free time, Seth enjoys playing sports, outdoor activities and spending time with his wife and three children.

Eva Schellenbach

HR, Finance Director

Eva Schellenbach joined the Rouse Center Staff as the Swim Instructor Coordinator and Head Swim Coach but now works as the HR/Finance Director. Her varied background includes many years of collegiate and high school teaching, as well as coaching. Eva earned her B.A. from Valparaiso University, her M.A. from Ohio University, and her MDE from the University of Maryland. As a competitive swimmer (formerly youth, now USMS swimmer), Eva feels right at home at the Rouse Center with its state-of-the art aquatic facilities.

In her free time, she enjoys hiking with her husband and Labrador, baking, reading, and of course swimming!

Christie Gagnon

Membership Director

Christie has over 20 years of event management, membership and customer service experience for non-profit organizations. She received her degree in communication studies with a minor in sport management from Virginia Tech.

In her free time she enjoys home improvement projects and gardening.

Angela Conway

Membership Services Coordinator

Angela Conway comes to the Rouse Center with years of varied work experience due to her most important role as a military spouse. In Japan she worked as an English Teacher. In Kansas, she worked in the Human Resource (HR) department of St. Mary’s Hospital. In Montana, she was the HR Director of a Long Term Care Facility. In Germany she worked as a Career Counselor, pianist and Piano Teacher. She received her Master’s Degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Kansas State University. In each location she has been passionate about actively living life and healthy eating.

Angela is originally from Iowa, where for years she would slalom ski on the Mississippi River and now enjoys boating on the Potomac, gardening, hiking and attending a variety of fitness classes. She, her husband, Jerry, and their two children currently reside in Stafford, VA.

Brandon Polania

Cafe Supervisor

Brandon comes to the Rouse Center with over 7 years experience working in food & beverage and restaurant management. His career originally started as a server at an Italian restaurant. He learned every position and continued to work his way up the ladder to eventually become the Service Manager. Brandon loves to cook and enjoys sharing that passion with others. There’s a certain sense of pride and joy he gets when he can brighten someone’s day through the food he serves. Now that he’s running the cafe at the Rouse Center, he’s enjoying the opportunity to be creative and share his love of food with all our awesome members!

Brandon is the oldest of five and both of his parents were Marines which gave him the amazing experience of traveling for most of his life. Exposure to many different cultures definitely fueled his passion for food. When he’s not at the Rouse Center he helps operate a home-based family business called Crafty Addictions. His family loves working together and strive to become even better entrepreneurs. In his free time, he enjoys graphic design, creative writing and of course, cooking!

Brendan Williamson

Assistant Aquatics Director

Brendan Williamson comes to the Rouse Center with over 13 years of competitive swimming experience and 7 years of experience as a swim coach and lifeguard.  He graduated from Christendom College in May of 2017 with a B.A. in History.  He most recently has coached at Riverbend High School in Spotsylvania and has been an active part of the local swimming community for years.  Brendan is an American Red Cross Certified Lifeguard/First Aid/CPR/AED.  He is looking forward to sharing his expertise with the Masters Swimming program at the Rouse Center.

Brendan loves the outdoors and staying physically active. He also enjoys getting to know people and helping others succeed.  His other interests include acting, swing dancing, rugby, listening to music, barbershop singing, reading novels and historical biographies, and swimming!
