Class - Sunday, March 4th, 9 - 4 pm
To be eligible to take the Lifeguard Certification course, all students must: swim 300 yards using any combination of freestyle and breaststroke using rhythmic breathing and good technique. Students must also swim 20 yards, surface dive and retrieve a 10lb brick and carry it while kicking on your back to the starting point within 1 minute and 40 seconds. Participants must also tread water for 2 minutes using only their legs.
Prevent drowning and become a lifeguard! You must be 15 years of age and able to pass lifeguard pre-test. Class includes ARC First Aid & CPR/AED. Students must attend all classes, complete all course work, and pass final skills test and written exam in Lifeguarding, CPR/AED and First Aid to obtain certification. All students must register for and pass the lifeguard pre-test before taking the class.
Your lifeguard certification is only valid for two years! Make sure you get recertified before the two years ends or you will have to take the entire class again. This nine-hour class is designed to give a review into all of the material covered in the Lifeguarding class including CPR/AED, First Aid and Water Rescue Skills. A CPR practical, water skills evaluation, as well as the two Lifeguarding exams will be administered to determine certification. Participants must bring in copy of current lifeguard certification to prove it has not expired yet or participant will not be eligible to recertify.
